Make the menu easy to find
A direct menu link lets someone who discovers your restaurant on Instagram check dishes and prices. Use a clear label such as View our menu and a destination that opens without a sign-in.
Keep a direct menu URL when the menu is the main task. If guests also need booking, directions or ordering, use the profile's available link controls or a maintained page you own. Compare the extra step with the benefit of those destinations rather than choosing a link-page provider by habit.
Add and check the destination
Copy the public menu link
In Menujo, publish the menu and use Share menu to copy the public URL. Open it outside the editor and confirm the name, currency and prices.
Find the profile link controls
In the Instagram app, open your profile and Edit profile, then look for Links or the external-link option. Interface labels and availability can vary by app version and account.
Add a clear title
Paste the menu URL and use View our menu or another accurate label. If the profile has several links, place the menu according to its importance for your guests.
Save and test from another account
Open the public profile, choose the menu destination and check the result in Instagram's browser. Also open it in the phone's regular browser if loading fails.
Check after a menu or campaign change
Keep the link destination current. If you change the menu URL, update the profile rather than relying indefinitely on an old redirect.
Direct link or links page?
| Situation | Practical choice | What to maintain |
|---|---|---|
| Guests mainly need dishes and prices | Direct public menu URL | Menu content and publication state |
| Guests need several destinations | Available native links or your own links page | Labels, order and each destination |
| A temporary event has its own menu | Link to the actual event menu | End date and return to the regular menu |
| You need placement-specific measurement | A reporting system that supports it | Its tags, consent settings and interpretation |
Use supported source tracking
Menujo Business classifies recognized tags such as utm_source=instagram as social traffic. The current reports group source categories; they do not compare bio versus Stories or arbitrary campaign names. A copied tagged link remains tagged when someone shares it.
Free has seven days of basic analytics, Pro 60 days and Business 90 days. Pro and Business have analytics exports; source reports require Business. Read the current analytics guide before treating visits as engagement, orders or sales.
If you run analytics on your own website, use that system's supported campaign fields. The UTM builder creates URLs but does not add new reports to Menujo. Where Instagram supplies link-tap Insights, interpret those as taps at that platform, not completed menu visits or transactions.
Keep the profile and menu consistent
A post about a special should lead to a menu that actually includes it. Review prices and availability before promotion. If you use a Story link option, test the specific account's controls and destination; do not assume a feature shown on another account is available on yours.
Include useful location and opening-hour information without crowding the profile. A direct menu link does not replace a separate ordering or booking workflow. Follow the tested Menujo setup guide and WhatsApp menu sharing for those tasks.
Check the controls in your app
Profile-link labels and available controls can vary. Use Instagram's profile-link help with the options shown in your app, and test the saved public destination.
Questions about this workflow
How do I add a menu link to Instagram?
Copy the published public menu URL, open Edit profile and the available link controls, add the URL and a clear title, then save and test the public profile.
Should the link go to my menu or homepage?
Use the destination that matches the task. A direct menu URL avoids an intermediate page when guests want dishes and prices; a maintained links page can serve several important tasks.
Can I track Instagram menu views?
Business can classify a recognized Instagram tag as social traffic. The current Menujo dashboard does not distinguish bio and Story placements or report completed orders.
What happens if I rename the menu URL?
Update the Instagram link and test it. An old Menujo slug can redirect for a limited period, so do not treat it as a permanent substitute for maintaining your profile link.
