Getting started
What is Menujo?
Menujo is a digital menu platform for restaurants, cafes, food trucks, and bars. You build your menu once, publish it at its own web address, and print the QR code. Diners scan it and see the current menu on their phone. Menus are display-only: Menujo does not take orders or process payments.
How do I create my first digital menu?
Sign up, add categories and items with prices, descriptions, and photos, then publish. Your menu gets its own address and a QR code you can download and print. Most operators have a first menu live in about five minutes.
Do I need an account?
Yes. New accounts start on the Free plan straight away, with no credit card. The Free plan covers 1 menu with up to 50 items and 10 categories, which is enough for most independent cafes, food trucks, and small restaurants.
Can I add photos to my menu items?
Yes, on every plan. Upload one image per item, up to 10 MB each. Images are optimized automatically when you upload them.
Can I import a menu I already have?
Yes. CSV import is available on every plan, including Free. Put your categories, item names, descriptions, and prices in a spreadsheet, save it as CSV, and import it from the menu editor. Import files can be up to 512 KB.
Menus and QR codes
How do customers open my menu?
By scanning your QR code, or by opening the menu link directly. The link works anywhere you can put a URL: an Instagram bio, a Google Business Profile, WhatsApp, receipts, or your own website.
Do I need to reprint my QR code when I change the menu?
No. The QR code points at your menu's address, not at the menu contents. Change a price, add a dish, or mark something sold out, and the code you already printed keeps working. This is the main reason operators move off printed menus.
What happens if I rename my menu's web address?
The old address redirects to the new one, so codes already in circulation keep working. The redirect follows up to five renames and is kept for about 13 months, refreshed each time you rename. If you have printed codes out in the world, rename sparingly.
Can I download my QR code, and in which formats?
Yes. PNG is available on every plan. SVG, which stays sharp at any print size, is available from Pro upward. Downloaded codes carry no watermark and no caption, on any plan.
What size should I print my QR code?
At least 2 cm by 2 cm, about 0.8 inches. A useful rule is that the code should be roughly one tenth of the distance people scan it from, so a code read from 3 metres away wants to be around 30 cm.
My QR code is not scanning. What should I do?
Check that the printed code is at least 2 cm wide, is not creased or catching glare, and has a clear margin of blank space around it. Dark or patterned backgrounds behind the code also cause failures. If it still will not scan, open your menu link in a browser to confirm the menu is published, then contact support.
Can I customize how my menu looks?
Your logo can be uploaded on every plan, including Free. From Pro upward you also get the theme picker with nine presets, a full custom colour picker, and a cover image.
What languages can my menu be in?
Any language. You type your menu in whatever language you serve in, and the menu page sets the matching language and reading direction, including right-to-left for Arabic, Farsi, Hebrew, and Urdu. Menujo does not translate for you: what you type is what diners see. The Menujo dashboard itself is currently English only.
Can customers order or pay through Menujo?
No. Menujo menus are display-only. Diners browse on their phone and order with your staff as usual. If you need online ordering or payment processing, Menujo on its own is not the right tool.
Plans and billing
Is there a free plan?
Yes, and it does not expire. The Free plan gives you 1 menu with up to 50 items, 10 categories, and 1 folder, unlimited menu views, and no ads. Menu pages on the Free plan carry a small "Powered by Menujo" line at the bottom.
What is the difference between Free and Pro?
Pro is $7 per month or $70 per year. It raises the caps to 10 menus with 250 items and 50 categories each, and 3 folders. It also adds 60 days of analytics, the theme picker and custom colours, a cover image, SVG downloads, and it removes the "Powered by Menujo" line. Business is $12 per month or $120 per year for 100 menus with 1,000 items each, 10 folders, and 90 days of analytics.
How do I remove the "Powered by Menujo" line?
Upgrade to Pro or above. The line appears at the bottom of menu pages on the Free plan only. It never appears on downloaded QR codes, on any plan.
Do you offer a free trial?
No. There is no trial to start and none to expire. The Free plan does that job: use it for as long as you like, and upgrade only when you reach a limit that matters to you.
What payment methods do you accept?
Major credit and debit cards, processed by Stripe. Menujo never sees or stores your card details.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, from your billing settings. Paid features stay active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the account moves to the Free plan. Your menus stay published.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. There is a 30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans, monthly and annual. Contact support within 30 days of your payment and we will refund it in full. Cancelling on its own stops future billing and keeps your menus live on the Free plan.
What happens if a payment fails?
We retry the charge and email you each time. After the third failed attempt in a row, roughly a week, the account moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted: your menus stay published and your data is preserved, the "Powered by Menujo" line returns, and paid features come back when you upgrade again.
Analytics
What analytics do I get, and on which plan?
All plans show menu-view analytics. Free includes 7 days of history, Pro includes 60 days, and Business includes 90 days. Available metrics include total and unique views, average views per day, a daily view chart, device, country, browser, and top menus. These are page views, not confirmed QR scans.
Can I see how many people scanned the QR code specifically?
No. Menujo counts menu views and cannot tell a view that came from a scanned code apart from one that came from a link. If you need to separate channels, add UTM parameters to the links you share and use the free UTM Builder at menujo.com/tools/utm-builder.
What counts as a unique view?
A distinct IP address within the period you are looking at. Menujo does not use cookies or device identifiers to track diners, so the figure is an approximation rather than a headcount.
How long is analytics data kept?
Individual view records are kept for 90 days on every plan. How far back you can look is set by your plan: up to 60 days on Pro and up to 90 days on Business. All-time view totals for each menu are kept for as long as the menu exists.
Account, privacy, and support
How do I sign in?
Three ways, all without a password: Google, Apple, or an email magic link. The magic link is valid for 15 minutes.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
There is no password to forget. Menujo is passwordless. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we will send you a magic link. If you signed up with Google or Apple, sign in through that provider.
How do I delete my account, and what happens to my data?
From your account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your menus, items, images, QR codes, and analytics are removed, and your published menu links stop working. Records your payment processor is required to keep, such as invoices, are retained by them. Cancel any active subscription first. On Pro and above you can export your menus as CSV before deleting; on the Free plan, copy anything you want to keep by hand first.
Can anyone else see my menu analytics?
No. Analytics are visible only to you when signed in. Menujo never shows diner identities to menu owners, and does not share individual analytics with third parties.
How do you protect my data?
Traffic is encrypted in transit and stored data is encrypted at rest on our infrastructure provider's platform. Sign-in is passwordless, so there is no password of yours for us to store or leak. We do not sell user data, and we share it only with the service providers needed to run the platform, such as our payment processor and email sender. Menujo provides privacy controls that support GDPR workflows, including access and deletion. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
How do I contact support?
By email, through the contact page. We reply to every message, normally within 24 hours. Support is email only: there is no phone line and no live chat. Requests from paid plans are prioritized.
